Alan Barnes' strong tone, assured improvisations and imaginative arranging technique have twice won the prestigious BBC Jazz Instrumentalist of the Year award for his world class performances on saxophone and clarinet.
In a remarkable achievement, David Newton was voted Best Jazz Pianist in the British Jazz Awards for the tenth time in 2011.
His partnership with Alan Barnes is legendary, with a strong musical rapport. David has received international recognition both as a soloist and as an exquisite accompanist with many great singers, including Stacey Kent and Claire Martin.

The Dante Quartet exclusive festival preview |

Award-winning musicians the Dante Quartet will perform an exclusive concert in Calstock on Thursday 20 June, in advance of their Summer Festival in July.
The concert entitled Dreams and Debussy, provides an opportunity to sample the delights of the festival programme in advance,with an added bonus: prior to playing wonderful quartet music by Haydn, Kodaly and Debussy, the musicians will present a light-hearted pre-concert entertainment of solos and duets, including music by Mozart and Beethoven.
The London-based quartet consists of Krysia Osostowicz and Giles Francis on violins, Rachel Roberts on viola and Richard Jenkinson on cello. Tickets £13 advance, £14 on the door.
